Grizzlies let another one slip away

 

Week 4, two losses and only one win saw the Grizzlies desperate to improve their ranking. With Killa still out in the fieldand Scotty on a better offer, Ned up North and Green Togs with a stubbed toe the Grizzlie line up looked like This:

Cheesey, Max, Lynchy, Martian, Laura and Ben
Crusty, Floppsy, Big Nob and Gaffers

We decided to take advantage of the two new players but to put them up in the forward line and leave the backs to keep TSDC out. This plan worked well in the first half with a couple of goals early on, some brilliant defence and some pretty bloody ordinary subbing in the front line. The second half was a different matter though. F**k knows what they had in their drink bottles at half time but with a quick goal off the strike followed up by another TSDC had drawn level with us within the first two minutes of the second half. This put the frighteners on us a bit so we benched the newbies til we got a goal back but then TSDC go another then another. We managed to pull of an equaliser with 1:50 on the clock but instead of playing for the draw we got sucked in to trying to push up our left wing, they broke and got the bloody winner with 15 seconds to go. Mega pisser.

A good game though, the maggot did a good job of reffing even if the deck ref was slow on his donger cos he was too busy eyeing off the poolside talent, the Grizzlies won't balme him for that.

Pub was good but still no food but at least there were no drunken paddies this week and we could actually heat each other, particulary Cheesey's account of not getting buste for drink driving. Good to see Scotty and Kelly make it to the pub after their chinese meal, shame they didn't bring any left overs though, forcing us to go for the weekly run to Mykonos.
