Grizzlies hope to get their money's worth this time

After being robbed of the last ten minutes of the game last time we played against SOS we were wonering whether we'd get to play the full game this time. That said, there were few tears when we heard that Bruising Bob Slazenger had a broken arm which he apparently sustained banging somebody's head into the side of the pull when he had them in a headlock.

Inspite of having a teamsheet of 12 we were looking rather light on the ground, if not round the waists before the game. Lynchy was off flexing his knee, Scotty was off drinking all the P & F's chocolate drive profits, Sam was busy doing a night time shoot for solar hot water heating and Floppsy called in sick at the last minute. This left us with:

Cheesey, Max, Ned and Killa
Crusty, Gaffers, Big Nob and Martian

The game started with no sign of Gaffers but he showed up for the first sub. Think we scored the first goal but it was a long time coming but most of the game we were on top. We unfortuneately let them get a goal with seconds to go before the end of the first half which we should probably held out. However we were able to get ahead again in the second half with about 5 minutes to go. Instead of closing the game down (a la Zooloo) though we pushed up our left flank and foolishly then centred the puck. Their fast fict fusker pounced on this an managed to swim around our back line and get them an equaliser. With only a few minutes left we were unable to get a winner and had to settle for a draw. An opportunity to down SOS went begging.

Being the glass is half full kind of a team though we adjourned to the PoW to brag about SOS not having beten us in the past 2 games while Gaffers had another game playing against Cilia.

The Pub was great, nobody there, $10 jugs and chips although Tazo season is over. Our illustrious president had failed to inform the PoW taht we were going to be back this week so there were no Grizzlie dietry supplements so we had to make do with bear and listening to Ned, who showed up late after gettinghome and realising she couldn't sleep without having a beer with her team mates, tell us all about the things she did and didn't eat.
